First Deadly St. Paul fire since 2008 ruled an accident

A man was found dead in an apartment after a fire quickly spread through the unit Monday night.  The Star Tribune reported that the 49-year-old, Ka Lee Yang, died was found in the bathroom and had died from smoke inhalation.  Yang was the only person home at the time of the fire.  Yang's wife had just left to pick up their five children when the fire happened.

According to Fox 9 News, the fire is reported to have started on the units balcony and moved into the living room and the rest of the apartment. The fire investigators are still searching for the reason behind the fire, but has been ruled an accident.  Yang's unit was the only one harmed in the apartment of seven other apartment units.  The other residents were let back into their units a few hours after the fire was extinguished.
